I bought the photograph of George "The Animal" Steele from former wrestler Walter "Killer" Kowalski at an auction of sports photographs in the early 1970s. Kowalski had been travelling with the tour after his retirement and taking portraits of wrestlers with a Hasselblad. Kowalski did George an injustice shooting in black and white because George's claim to fame was his green tongue, not his diet of wooden two-by-fours.
